Which Affiliate Networks Should You Choose?

With so many affiliate networks out there these days, anyone who wants to earn online will be able to join. But which is best? In this article, we'll look at three of the biggest ones. First, let's define a network.

Basically, when you sign up to an affiliate network, you have access to hundreds or even thousands of vendors in one place. These sites have a huge number of merchants that you can promote and it is all under one roof, with tracking info and everything available to make things easier. These cover just about every niche and allow you plenty of choices when it comes to things to promote.

Linkshare, the first network we'll look at, is extremely popular. It offers plenty of choices for those looking for products that they can promote for a commission. The stats page will let you know what ads are working best and they also send out monthly reports to help you stay on top of things.

Linkshare is great in that it's free to join. The biggest issue with this site is that merchants may lower the amount they pay if you sign up through the network. Since they have to pay a fee, some take it off the commission. Check this out before signing up with a program.

Commission Junction, also known as CJ, is possibly the largest affiliate network available for physical objects. It is also free to join and offers thousands of merchants for the affiliate marketer to choose from. That means there is a huge selection in pretty much every category.

This site offers great commissions, but the real value lies in the ability to code for multiple sites and see your advanced tracking stats. The more you can see, the easier it is to tweak campaigns. The biggest problem here is having to send in a W-9 form or proof that you are not a citizen of the US and are therefore exempt from taxes.

Finally, we have Shareasale, which is possibly the second largest network of physical items, beside CJ. This is usually a little easier to get into, as well, so many people opt for this system. They offer a variety of options including pay per sale, per lead or per click. If you want to get lower, but more frequent payments, then the pay per click is a good way to go. They are also free to join and provide tracking stats.

Which of these three affiliate networks should you go with? Why not all three? There's no rule that prohibits your promotion of all three sites.
