How To Be A Wealthy Affiliate Through Email Marketing
If you're a new affiliate marketer, it can be confusing how you should get your promotion going. You have an affiliate link, and so do a lot of other competitive marketers. If you're promoting a popular product, chances are there's a lot of review pages, forum links, and adwords campaigns out there already.
Should you be doing the same thing that the masses do?
Maybe, but most people don't make much money from those methods. In fact, most people don't make money from affiliate marketing at all, when you factor in the costs of setting up. However those tried and true tactics will give you some money if you're very good at it. Why stop there though? There IS a ton of money to be made.
This is where email marketing comes in.
If you're doing great with adwords or landing pages already, then email marketing will make it even better. Any business you have will benefit from building a list and promoting. Even if you promote in forums, you can link to an email subscription page, even if you don't have a website yourself.
And check this out: if you wanted to, you could even put signs up by your local intersections to lead people to sign up for your mailing list? How is this even possible? With autoresponders.
An autoresponder is an email marketing program that handles all the deliverability issues of email marketing. You still need to write the content yourself (or outsource it), but the autoresponder handles everything else.
Once you have the content, you organize it and decide when and where to send it.
You can start right away, but once you have built up a mailing list of a few hundred, or even a few thousand people, you can start making good money. You can send a multi-part email course on your topic of choice, and plug your affiliate product in each email or just at the end if you're feeling conservative.
Once you're done with that first e-course, you can immediately switch to promoting a related product, or even an unrelated one, if you think you can make it work. That's the beauty of email affiliate marketing. Once someone is on your list, you simply sell to them until they buy or unsubscribe. You don't really want a bunch of friendly fans who read your emails with joy and never do anything. You want hungry buyers or pissed off subscribers who opt out of the list.
Remember that I said "pissed off SUBSCRIBERS." You can't add people to your list who didn't volunteer to be on there. Spam is when someone had no intention of being on your list. Once someone has opted in to be on your list, and has the power to unsubscribe at any time, you are allowed to be as salesy as you want and it's not considered "spam." The worst case scenario is that someone gets mad and clicks the "unsubscribe" link provided by your autoresponder. They won't even write to you to complain.
The good thing about autoresponder services is they make sure before you send your first email that all your bases are covered legally by automatically generating unsubscribe links, and confirming that every subscription is opt-in. Spam isn't an issue.
If you're an affiliate, it's a must that you use an autoresponder.
